the Product

 

DMW (Detection of harmful substances and Monitoring of the Water quality) is a real-time tool for monitoring, early detection and immediate alert from harmful substances, contaminations and toxics in water, without need a lab tests or chemical elements.

DMW can know immediately the micro-algae quantity as about the phytoplankton, their healthy/feeling and efficiency, regarding most/common harmful substances, vulnerability and toxins that are existing in water (and also have impact on human), as; heavy metals (such as lead, copper, cadmium, mercury and more) and various types of sewage, in domestic and industrial. 

The main uniqueness of the DMW product is the "Profiler" test, vertical distribution (which it is very complicated to do this test today). This test is very important for the continuity of the water quality in order to know the impact and functioning of the water ecosystem, as in reservoir, and also to get optimization for the appropriate growth of algae for aquaculture crops and oil production.

In addition, regarding cyanobacteria, sometimes their multiplication are very danger to human, and the DMW product can check their nutrients immediately (and also, for instance, if there are excess nitrogen vs. phosphorus). The product includes sensors for measurement PAR, temperature and pressure (depth).

Current Status

The product is based on a scientific research in the fields of biology and aquatic ecology. The unique and innovative technology utilizing the photo-acoustic method in water was done first worldwide in the Ecological laboratory of one of Universities in Israel. The technology was developed in a research funded by a European program. The prototype model could be shown in the Ecological laboratory of the University.

  • Using photo-acoustic method for probing the physiological status of phytoplankton and direct determination of photosynthetic energy storage efficiency in phytoplankton

  • In microbiological terms: The product enables continuous follow-up and direct determination of biomass concentration and photosynthetic efficiency of microalgae (phytoplankton) in water reservoir. It informs any time the changes in toxicity's concentrations (as lead and pesticides) and nutrients (as Nitrogen and phosphorus)

  • Real time information of the toxins amount and harmful substances - the product automatically performs measurement of increase/decrease of algae (in percent) within a given time period (using stored history): (1) the amount of growth of micro-algae resulting from multiple nutrients, phosphorus or nitrogen (as in wastewater), and (2) the amount of died micro-algae as a result of toxins (acids, heavy toxins, pesticides and biological materials)
